Normal Flora

In a certain sense, humans can be viewed as the end result of a half-billion years of evolution to provide ideal ecosystems for our bacterial symbiots. Each of us contains an internal biomass of bacteria so that we have approximately 10 bacterial cells within us for each mammalian cell comprising the body proper.
