Subject: The Effects of Aluminum Foil on Tarnished Silver

I remember doing a science project in High School were we 
took a piece of tarnished silver and put it into a mixture 
of warm water, aluminum foil, and baking soda. When the 
silver was placed in the water the tarnish immediately 
disappeared. I tried this experiment again recently with
no results, am I missing something in my formula?
