I tried some quick experiments with Equal with the following results.
The "foam" was only seen with room temperature and cold liquids.  Hot
coffee and tea readily dissolved the Equal.  This is probably due to
the limited solubility of the dextrose which is the carrier for the
aspartame and the density of the dextrose as compared to the liquid.
