About Fusion
I was reading my Popular Mechanics just the other day, and I read
that a us laboratory is going to construct the world's most powerful
laser in order to create momentary nuclear fusion. I would like to
know a little more about fusion. My only background is David Macauley's
wonderful book, The Way Things Work. I know it involves deuterium and
tritium, and that the new laser will produce 10 times more energy than
is given off. I think that's amazing, but I don't have much to compare
it to. Please give me the basics on fusion and any additional info on
the lab.
