Where does the power go when light destructively interferes
If a laser beam is sent through a michelson interferometer adjusted to
cause destructive interference across the full field of the recombined
beam components, where does the power go. .. a black absorbtive card
held in the path of the recombined beam would become warm if
constructive interference was present but if destructive interference
occurs the beam is not visible so cannot produce otically induced heat
