Where does the power go when light destructively interferes If a laser beam is sent through a michelson interferometer adjusted to cause destructive interference across the full field of the recombined beam components, where does the power go. .. a black absorbtive card held in the path of the recombined beam would become warm if constructive interference was present but if destructive interference occurs the beam is not visible so cannot produce otically induced heat
