What are the differences in the waves pertaining to earthquakes?
Hi! I am a ninth grader at Springhouse jr. High School. I am learning
 about earthquakes and the different waves.  We read information in 
our book about P waves and S waves and L waves. I was wondering if 
someone could help me understand what the waves are.  I do not 
understand the book when it is talking about particles moving.  
Please explain some of the information needed to understand these 
waves.  Thank you very much.
