There is a nest under my eaves, I think of a nuthatch. We used a mirror once to
look in it and saw 5 eggs. Checked again and couldn't really see well, but it
looks like one egg and several dead baby birds! The mother is still using the
nest, and is in it at night and frequently throughout the day. I would have
expected her to abandon it. Is this bird crazy, in denial, or what?
