No. Growth in deciduous trees, both growth in length (height) and growth in 
diameter (thickness) is basically coupled to leaf production. So to grow they 
must make new leaves. As they do not make new leaves in the Winter, they do not 
grow.

They do, of course, store food (typically in the roots) and are alive and 
capable of some metabolic activity, but not growth.
