In October of 1997 a seismic event occurred near the Alabama/Florida border. Since no major fault is written about in the literature we researched {excepting the "New Madrid" fault which was not near the epicenter of uake) how can I explain to my students what caused this temblor. As I recall, it registered between 3 and 4 on the richter scale. Is Florida subducting or what!!???
