Two methods - one easy, one less so. Ultrasound scans are used routinely
in checking fetal growth ahd development; they can detect male
genitalia at 18 weeks quite easily, and determine sex by
inclusion/exclusion. Harder is smapling ammniotic fliuid and chromosome
testing cells shed by fetal skin. There is a 1% risk of inducing
miscarrieges, but it works if desired.
