Some months ago I asked how many photons were collected in the HST from very
distant galaxies or pulsars. The answer given was "ten per second.
I understand that the number of photons emitted 10 billion years ago
was
enormous ,but ,considering the amount of dark matter in the universe
I cannot understand how even 10 got thru.
My question then is: Is it possible that there was much less dark
matter for much of the time the photons were on there way here?
