Re: Is there any acid/base reaction involved in the ceramic tile manufacturing?

I do not have access to references on the chemistry of ceramic tile manufacturing. The book, Chemistry In The Marketplace, 4th edition, author=Ben Selinger, publisher=Harcourt, Brace, Jovanovich (1989), discusses some chemistry of cement & concrete (Chapter 8: Chemistry of Hardware & software-III). At the end of this chapter are references to articles on Ceramics. I would suggest that the questioner check on her topic at a local University/College library. Perhaps the Web site of a cement company, or a phone call to one, would give some helpful leads.
