I just read the question and answer about mosquito hawks. While
"mosquito hawks" may be dragonflies in some locations, we have
something in Connecticut that burrows into the ground, creating pretty
good sized mounds of dirt and holes about 3/4 of an inch in diameter.
The bug that flies out of these burrows looks like a giant wasp and is
very territorial. Most definitely not a dragonfly. Any ideas what it
may be?
