When I was a child, I accumulated a collection of cuts and scrapes,
including a surgical incision. These all formed scar tissue as they
healed. Now, 30 to 40 years later, most of the scar tissue has
disappeared. So I would like to understand why and how scar tissue
disappears, and why it takes so long. Is the process the same for
internal scars as it is for scars on the skin?
