My question involves the possible reversal of expansion. I understand
that if there is a critical density of matter, gravity will overcome
the
expansion and space will contract. I can understand gravity
overcoming the
apparent effect of an expanding space and causing matter to be drawn
together, but does this then shrink space itself ? If so, why ?
