Well Bruno !

Generally all the electronics circuits show erratic behaviour in an 
humid environment unless and until they are designed preferably to 
overcome these environmental hazards.

There are chances that the sensor in your case may have the deposition 
of the humus which enhances the dust deposition and entually causes 
malfunction/reduction in range.

Please ensure that the sensors and detectotrs are clean and dry.
