I am not really sure what you mean by considerations, however, I think that 
what you are probably asking is “What are the environmental impacts” and 
will focus my answer on these.  Because your question is so wide ranging, I 
hope that some of the issues that I describe below will direct you toward 
further research on this topic that you may wish to do at your school or 
public library.

Mining of any material presents many environmental considerations. Our 
economies and cultures depend on a whole host of mineral materials which 
are produced by mining.  To get these materials out of the ground requires 
energy, machinery, and people.  So the question that you ask is complicated 
by not only the direct impact of mining on the environment but also by the 
associated impacts of energy production, industrial machinery fabrication, 
and all the material and food needed by the people that perform the mining.
