Although I'm never had the opportnity to make ski wax, I was able to find someone who had. http://news.uns.purdue.edu/UNS/html4ever/980501.Tao.skiwax.html At the above link, two students at Purdue University developed a ski wax made from soybean oil. I'm sure they would be willing to share their findings with you. They also detail their testing methods used to compare mixtures of the waxes. Another possibly may be the use of boric acid. Argonne National Laboratory reports that boric acid can provide friction coefficients as low as 0.02 to 0.05. Boric acid is an effective solid lubricant due to its unique layered-crystal structure. Although I don't recommend everyone to use boric acid out on the ski slope, it may warrant some research. GOOD LUCK!
