There is a correlation between mutagenisis (DNA mutation) and the following:

1) chemical carcinogens (can cause local changes in nucleotide sequences)
2) ionizing radiation (can cause chromosmal breaks and translocations)
3) viruses (can introduce foreign DNA into the cell)
