Dear Elizabeth:

The acceleration of gravity on the surface of the Moon is 162 cm/sec*sec, 
while on the Earth it is 980 cm/sec*sec.  In simpler terms, the gravity on 
the Moon's surface is about one-sixth that on the surface of the Earth.
