That is a good question.  And the answer is more than likely yes.  The reason 
for the ambiguity is that a number of other questions need to be answered.  For 
example, where is the gas supply?  Is it a municipality?  Is it coming straight 
from the well-head?  How much sulfur and what sort of sulfur compounds are they 
(ie sulfides, disulfides, mercaptans etc.)  

For typical well gas, cpvc should be ok to use, provided its pressure rating is 
suitable for the supplied pressure.  Certain municipalities are using pvc for 
local service.  But remember that pressure and gas compositiion are the two 
determining factors.
