MadSci Network: Chemistry |
The sources I found mentioned several methods of extracting copper from ore. I found the most information in a general encyclopedia. You might want to check your library for a science encyclopedia--most public and school libraries have one. On the web, the best source I came across is http://www.copper.org/ In particular, one of their sections http://60centuries.copper.org/ is a history of copper use over the centuries. Another section http://innovations.copper.org/mining01.html gives information about changes in traditional copper mining techniques. None of these give information as detailed as you requested.
