Reportedly German farmers were able to effectively produce small
batchs of wood alcohol to run their farm machinery toward the end
of World War II when Germany ran short of oil and their Army failed
to campture Baku on the Caspian Sea (The Germans also developed
synfuels from coal around this time). So, my question is how exactly
did these simple farmers develop wood slcohol as as effective fuel?
