when gamma radiation passes near the vicinity of a massive particle, it
converts to a particle and an anti particle to conserve momentum.

given any amount of matter, it is of course possible to extract the amount
of equivalent energy from sunlight. The only question would be of the time
span in which this energy was extracted, since solar power is finite. If it
were greater than the life span of the sun, then we wouldn't be able to do
it.

i would encourage you to think about the inverse question instead..how to
convert matter into energy. we have matter everywhere...it's energy that we
need.
