Why does skin temperature drop as a result of smoking?

I am currently working on a project regarding the correlation
between skin temperature and smoking. I have discovered that the
skin temperature drops but I am not sure why. I also must perfom
an experiment to prove this and I am not sure how to go about
doing that.
