In demagnetisation of magnets, one method as described in some books is to place
the magnet in a solenoid connected to an ac supply, then remove the magnet
SLOWLY from the solenoid till about 2-3 metres away. Why slowly? What if it
were removed quickly, or removed only after switching off the supply?
