How did biologists discover each step in Aerobic respiraton (Formation of Acetyl Coenzyme A,
Kreb cycle, and the electron transport chain)?

We are freshmen at John F. Kennedy Highschool and are taking General Biology as one of our
classes. Currently, we are studying cellular respiration and are interested in knowing how the
biologists discovered the process of aerobic respiration. In class, we have learned the steps in
forming the end products in aerobic respiration. We are puzzled by how biologists were able to
actually know all that was taking place during aerobic respiration. For example, what instruments
were used to examine what was occuring in th cell during respiration? This is what inspired us to
go deeper into the discovery of aerobic respiration.

We would greatly appreciate it if you could find the opportunity to respond with an answer to our
question. If not, we still thank you for all of your time and hope you enjoyed reading our commentary.
Thanks again!

Sincerely,
