There are many sites that will offer information on Ethanol located on the Internet. You might want to check this one out. http://webbook.nist.gov/cgi/cbook.cgi?ID=C64175&Units=CAL&Mask=8#Thermo-Rea ct Ethanol can be synthesized into several different types of compounds. It is usually used as a solvent in laboratory environments or as a reagent (a component of a chemical reaction). It is also used as a fuel additive (denatured) or as a consumable (alcoholic beverage). I don't believe that it is transformed into methanol during combustion. Most likely only carbon dioxide and water, maybe some carbon monoxied. It all depends on how the reaction is carried out. Good luck!
