In simplest terms 'evolution' means 'change.' The most famous theory of
evolution is that of Charles Darwin. This theory is called The Theory of
Evolution by Means of Natural Selection. This theory in the simplest terms
holds that those living things with 'better' traits will tend to survive
more often and therefore pass their 'better' traits on to their offspring
more often than those with 'worse' traits. In short, this means that over
time, this can lead to enough changes to produce new kinds of living
things. Evolution can be much more complicated and this is really an
oversimplification. If you want to explore this further I suggest you
search on your computer for 'Charles Darwin,' 'Evolution,' and 'Natural
Selection.' There is a lot of material on this subject. Good luck in your
research.
