There are a couple of places where there is active mountian bulding.  The
Andes Mts. of South America is one of these places.  These mountians are
formed by the subduction of the Nazca plate (which is under the Pacific
ocean) beneath the South American plate. 
 Another place where mountians are still growing is in the Himalayas of
Tibet. Basically these are being made by India crashing into Asia. Its like
a global scale car accident.


You can research more about mountian bulding by using, plate tectonics,
mountian bulding, Andes etc..... as key words in search engines.
