Arachidonate is metabolized to prostaglandins, thromboxanes and 
leukotrienes.   It seems to be important for platelet activation.

This comes to  you second hand courtesy of a visiting Italian student.  It 
seems that Spanish and Italian are similar enough that we can understand 
each other's scientific  terminology.
