Hi Becky-

According to SeaWorld, the fastest marine organism is the Blue fin tuna, which is capable of reaching speeds of up to 55 miles per hour (!!) for short periods.

A few other contenders I was able to dig up:

  • Bottlenosed Dolphin: Maximum speed of about 40 MPH
  • Killer Whale: Maximum speed of about 30 MPH
  • Shark: (Mako) Maximum speed of about 20 MPH
  • Penguin: Maximum speed of about 15 MPH
