this question applied to pile driving in a marshy area of long island , NY
could you please tell me how much force is applied from an 1800 pound weight
dropped from say, 10 feet onto a 300 pound weight atop a telephone pole
standing on its end (8" round tip)
when these piles are driven, they might only move 1/4" per blow (when it begins
to "fetch up")
I recently drove a pile that only moved 1" after 60 blows (a very sandy area)
could you please include the formula for me also
I am aware of the equation F=MxA but am unsure of the units of measurement to
use
                                 ------many thanks
