MadSci Network: General Biology |
Several come to mind but the best and most basic I think would be the following: Microorganmisms decompose the bodies of animals that have died into nutrients for the soil to use. Plants use the nutrients from the soil to grow and thrive. Cows eat these grasses and plants to survive. Humans and other animals consume cow meat for survival. When these animals die, microorganisms decompose their bodies and the cycle starts all over again.
