The reactions I'm interested in are:
H20 (as saltwater) and Na(probably in metallic form)
H30+("metallic ice" hydroxonium) in a reaction by itself or with H2O(as
saltwater) or air.
If you are not familiar with H3O+
http://www.spaceviews.com/1998/09/article3.html

The H20/sodium reaction is intended for what amounts to a underwater
rocket. Saltwater/freshwater enters through the front of the engine and
reacts with the Na to provide thrust out the nozzle. I intend to build a
few and test them to see if the thrust is adequate.
Can metallic sodium be produced easily say from a NaCl(table
salt)solution or would I have to buy it from a reagent supplier?

Also any ideas on how H3O+ would be produced would be helpful.
