I live near Lake Nippissing, a moderately large lake (with a 20 km
horizon). Although I have seen still water, I have never seen wind blow,
or water flow away from the shore (except for undertows and riptides). In
fact, I have experienced strong winds on the shore and 100 meters away the
wind patterns are different. Is it possible, with rare wind conditions for
regular waves to carry you away from the shore?
