Probably the best way to create electricity with copper wire and a magnet 
is to form the wire into a coil, then rotate the magnet inside of the 
coil.  That's all there is to it.  As the magnet rotates inside of the 
coil, it will create a current in the copper wire.  If you connect a 
flashlight bulb to the ends of the wire, you will see it light up.  The 
faster your rotate or turn the magnet the more current is created, and the 
brighter the bulb will glow.
