Subject: How does the drop of water go to when you drop a stone in water?

When you drop a stone in water there is a drop or body of water that jumps up 
from the surface. How high does the drop go ? I know that it has something to do 
with surface tension and perhaps the stone. But i am not so sure if it depends 
on the energy or momentum of the stone.
