It's all to do with the autonomic nervous system.

Vomiting is a reflex action which may be caused by a wide variety of 
stimuli, mediated in part by the autonomic nervous system, which, when 
activated in this way, leads to other end results of autonomic activity, 
such as sweating, salivation, and tachycardia (rapid heartbeat).
