Hi.
This is a very good question.  It's usually difficult to measure how many 
years an invertebrate lives.  It's using the hard body parts that 
scientists can measure an animal's age.  But in case of jellyfish, it lives 
for about a year or so.  It's a seasonal animal.  The jellyfish that you 
see, is actually the medusa form of jellyfish.  It also has another form 
called polyp.  The latter form which has the same genetic make up is 
attached to the bottom of ocean and it's function is to grow and reproduce 
asexually forming the jellyfish medusa.
