Subject: Is there any research on whether prayer works?

I agree with the idea that religion and science 
should have virtually nothing to say about each 
other as they exist in different realms.
But it seems that there is one area where religion 
could be in the realm of science, and that is 
whether prayer works.  That should be a testable 
and falsifiable hypothesis.  So my question is, 
have there been any good studies done on this 
hypothesis and what were the results?
