Initially I would have said no because it is a very stable gas (low reactivity), but it turns out there are a number of hazards associated with neon, depending on its state (liquid or gas). Inhalation can cause suffocation, Skin exposure to the liquid can result in frost-bite, Liquid exposure to the eyes can also cause corneal frost-bite... I got all this information from the Material Safety Data Sheets for neon. You should always take a look at the MSDS to find out what precautions you need to take when handling any material with which you are not familiar. Kieran
