I already know that enzymes don't function when they are out of their
optimal pH range, I need to know why this is. What do extra hydrogen
and/or hydronium ions do to the enzyme to make it stop functioning? If
you need a specific enzyme to answer the question, catalase is the
particular I am studying enzyme
