Remember that the scientific literacy of your average movie mogul is likely
to be below that of my 5th-grade daughter. While hydrochloric acid ("marine
acid") was originally distilled from salt water (plus some other things), it
sounds like "salt acid" is just typical Hollywood pseudo-science. "Salt
acid" is another term for muriatic ("marine," hydrochloric) acid.
