During formation, the raindrops formed would be of different sizes and 
hence the heavier raindrops would start falling as soon as they exceed  a 
certain weight, and hence we should get a very mild drizzle continuosly 
instead of the bursts of rain. Of course, one would expect more drops when 
the weather is humid, but there seems no reason for the sudden starts and 
stops of rain to which we are accustomed.
