I am interested in the rocket candy mentioned in the book "October Sky" and
specifically the melting point of household sugar. Also, does the sucrose
start to decompose before melting? Also, what is the temperature at which
is the temperature begins to caramelize? Also, what are the other
decomposition modes, if any? I have looked in my chemistry reference books,
and they provide data for many sugars, but nothing on sucrose.
