Message:
It is common for short-distance runners to breath rapidly and
hyperventilate
to remove carbon dioxide from their lungs. Also, the muscles produce a
large
amount of lactic acid from their glucose stores during a short-distance
run.
Why is hyperventilation useful before a dash?
What is the biochemical pathway that leads to the production of lactic
acid?
