It is known that the woman's immune system can sometimes produce antisperm antibodies when the sperm is deposited in her genital tract, because it is recognized as an alloantigen. Can the same happen if the sperm can be found and recognized by the immune system in other tracts of the female body, e.g. gastrointestinal tract? What I mainly ask is if their is any possibility for the woman to produce alloantibodies through the gastrointestinal tract and if this is correct, can the same happen with other antigens, too - for example food antigens?
