We conducted an experiment in which we used jade plants. The purpose of he
experiment was to observe the changes in the pH of the plants due to the
increase in malic acid. However, the plants did not show a cycle. The pH
reamaned at 4.5 for the four day duration over which we tested. We believe
that this may be due to a mechanism utilized by the plant in response to a
change in environment(possibly temperature). THe plants were originally
kept in greenhouse under constant conditions. THe conditions at which we
conducted the experiments were not drastically different from those,
however, there was a change as the plants were transported from their
original environment.
