What exactly is the ticking sound heard through the stethoscope when
taking blood pressure with a sphygmomanometer? What is it called and what
causes it? I know that it signals the diastolic and systolic for blood
pressure but what is making the sound and how is it possible to heard it?
Do the sound waves travel through the blood? Does it travel through the
rest of the arm /body tissue?
